DIMEPIECE IS FUCKING BUSY! YES I SAID IT!

Completing samples, collaboration samples, and all other amazing events surrounding the brand. Plus we get to do fun shoots with our close friends and bullshit. Mostly because cause we’re still young at heart and strictly business women. Wink Wink*

Random clips of the week. Peep the Spring 2010 samples!

24 HOURS IN DIMEPIECE

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

From styling, picking up trims for Spring 10′, rooftop dinners, and visitors at the DimePiece office. Downtown Los Angeles is a great and magical place to grow a clothing brand. 24 hours in DimePiece can be a madhouse, but we have a great team to help us out.

It’s Been a Damn Good Year. DimePiece Highlights 2009.

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

2009 has been a great year for us over here at DimePiece. From designing patterns, picking fabrics, carrying 40 lb boxes, to photoshoots, parties, wheat pasting the streets, bigger offices, and surprising calls from P. Diddy. We hit our 2 1/2 year mark at DimePiece and everyday has been an overwhelming creative learning experience. We work extremely tough to produce these one of kind garments and tees that we believe in and hopefully you all enjoy. We truly appreciate you guys checking out and following our brand. Stay tuned… we have the twisted, wicked, scandalous, political, girly fly shit that you definitely can’t get anywhere else. 2009 get the hell out of the way because we’re coming after you 2010!!!

Sincerly yours,
Ashley & Laura

1. Our Fall/Winter 2009 campaign with Cassie. It was so good to see our ideas and designs come to life in this look book and have Cassie as the messenger.

Painted Barbie bodies
2. We did the window at Joyrich on Melrose. The theme was taken from our Summer line, “Plastic City”…hence the Barbies galore. We striped them, shaved each head and painted every single one! (and yes, that IS what interns are for…but it’s fun to get dirty once in a while).

3. We styled and art directed the cover for Acclaim Magazine, a fashion/art magazine from Australia. Our first cover :)

Joyrich & DimePiece “Take it off” party, the models are previewing our Spring 2010 prototypes. That party was a freakfest, we had so much fun.

Blood, Sweat, and Fabric.

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

We had an impromptu pick up at one of our fabric wholesalers! Yes, it’s true we source our own fabrics for ALL our Spring 2010 items. More work, but worth it.

DOMESTICALLY MANUFACTURED AND DEFINITELY NOT MADE IN CHINA, FYI!

“Just put it in the bag” more like “Just put it in the range”.

Here’s a shitty phone picture of Ashley and I in the wonderful world of the fabric district, downtown L.A. We put of a lot of hard work and love into our cut and sew garments so it takes a moment for us to pick the perfect fabric to match our personal taste. Happy Monday!

Friday’s musical surprises.

Monday, December 14th, 2009

We love visitors at the DimePiece office, it’s right in the heart of the garment/fabric district downtown L.A. So usually we get text messages saying:
Alycia: Hey we’re 15 minutes away and we’re coming to visit you guys!
DMPC: Ok awesome! (Rushing to clean the office and spray a little perfume so it doesn’t smell like lunch.)

We had songbirds Teyana Taylor and Alycia Bella roll by the office. Once they came in they raided our newest Fall 09′ collection – They especially loved the “Ain’t No Wifey” thermals.

We had a lovely visit today from Alycia Bella from Daddy’s Girls on MTV and the primo celeb stylist Mr. Anthony Bradshaw. They borrowed a few pieces from our brand new spring 2010 line. Ooowee (Peep those shades, your gonna stab my eye out!)
